The age-old question…
Do you find Love or does Love find you?
…intrigues me.
In “Lost for Words 愛。真。承”, two people from different worlds unknowingly cross paths time and again. Anna, a dancer, and Michael, an ex-Marine now IT specialist, both arrive in Hong Kong on the same day; each dealing with the aftermaths of failed relationships.
Perhaps it was “Fate” that brought these two people together in this massive metropolis. But for Michael and Anna, the choices they make will determine their destiny.
Color, light and sound play an important role in contrasting the two worlds in which Michael and Anna live and in their search for love.
As a computer maven, Michael’s world is a highly regimented place of binary living. Yes or no. True or false. This or that. His cold and calculating realm is painted in shadowy blues, somber greens and emotionless, muted tones. It also reflects on his simmering desires and dark, conflicted nature.
Anna’s is a world imbued with amber tints and golden hues. Bright. Colorful. Playful. Hers is one of imagination and creativity. But even here, there are shades of light and dark as Anna focuses on her passions and needs.
But what happens when these two worlds come together? What are the consequences as Michael and Anna are magnetically drawn to each other?
“Lost for Words 愛。真。承” takes us on that journey of exploration. The audience will share in their discovery; witnessing the tender embraces, the warm laughter and even the bittersweet tears while coming to terms with love’s paradoxes and contradictions. We will come to realize how fate, passion and desire transform them. And often this change is subtle and gradual. For love is illusive and difficult to pinpoint.
Love. It all comes down to the choices we make… or choose not to make.
So, do we find love or does love find us?
Perhaps, the key point is not how we find it, but that we find it at all.
