He was the creative force behind establishing Star TV, a satellite network with a footprint reaching over 2.3 billion people in 53 countries. He also founded Channel V, the first Asian music television channel with more than 700 million subscribers.
A pioneer in mobile content distribution, Siemens founded the highly successful ORANGE and SUNDAY networks and is currently developing a strategy to roll-out LTE networks in rural America.
Richard Siemen’s collaboration with Mara Lo-Orzel has spanned more than a decade – from the innovative mobile content service of SUNDAY in Hong Kong, SPICE in India to BLU in Italy. Siemens and Lo-Orzel produced the award winning indie thriller “Far Away Eyes” (a.k.a. “Four Assassins”) and are currently in preparation to launch a slate under the banner “Distacom Independent Film Fund”.
