“Composer”
Hamburg-based composer ANDRE MATTHIAS 安名士 is internationally acclaimed for his work in film music. Having studied systematic and historical musicology at the University of Hamburg, Matthias has composed scores for numerous shorts and features in Germany and Hong Kong. The soundtrack for Kenneth Bi’s artistic drama “The Drummer” was nominated for Best Original Film Music at the 2008 Hong Kong Film Awards.
The score of “Lost for Words 愛。真。承” is a blend of sweeping orchestral sounds and eastern cadence. During Anna’s dance performance, Matthias punctuates Bach’s Prelude with an ethereal violin bringing an emotional crescendo to this pivotal scene.
“Lost for Words 愛。真。承” signals Andre Matthias’ second collaboration with Director Stanley J. Orzel 何兆賢. He previously composed the score for “Four Assassins” (a.k.a “Far Away Eyes”).
