Does movie music vibrate through your bones?
Then fire up your smartphone or tablet! Dust off your CD player! The music from “Lost for Words 愛。真。承” is headed your way. Music publishing giant Plaza Mayor releases composer Andre Matthias’ lush score for “Lost for Words 愛。真。承” digitally and on CD.
When it comes to soundtracks, Andre 安名士 feels that in recent years, film music with actual melodic themes has become quite rare. So, for him, the opportunity to write a traditional romantic score with an Eastern touch was not to be missed.
“Scoring ‘Lost for Words’ was a wonderful challenge.”
– Andre Matthias 安名士 (composer)
A challenge indeed.
Because, for director Stanley J. Orzel 何兆賢, music plays a vital roll in the relationship between the movie’s two star-crossed lovers.
“So much so that several key scenes require the audience to connect dramatically through the fusion of music and images rather than dialogue.”
– Stanley J. Orzel 何兆賢 (director)
And that task was just one of the many heaped upon the composer.
“The fact that the music is sometimes pretty much in the foreground was particularly daunting.”
– Andre Matthias 安名士 (composer)
Rising to the challenge, Andre assembled a talented team of musicians to bring the rich film score to life. With Sandro Friedrich (flute), Riccardo Rocchi (classical guitar) and Vytautas Sondeckis (cello) on board, Matthias created a complex and intoxicating music experience.
Listening to the soundtrack, one realizes what a vital element the music represents. It’s a musical journey that enhances the magnitude of the story and emotional voyage of the story’s two lovers.
Here is a brief sample of one of Andre’s favorite tracks from the soundtrack… ‘Harbor Crossing.’
Whether it’s a digital download, streaming or CD, the list of places to find the soundtrack is growing…
